Climbing for the Children of Africa

Recently, we met with Andy Russell from Compassion International. We discussed Compassion's mission of helping out poor children across the globe. One of these places where Compassion has a strong presence is Arusha, Tanzania, the base of Kilimanjaro. Compassion International exists as an advocate for children to release them from their spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enable them to become responsible and fulfilled Christian adults.

Tim, Angie and Andy meet to discuss raising money for the local African children in poverty

There are ways in which you can help as well. Sponsor us for whatever you can afford, even just a penny a foot (which will work out to about $141.00 when all is said and done) and help poor kids in Africa get fed, get the medical treatment they need, and get good quality help and education all they way from birth to a college degree. It is our mission to help break the cycle of poverty in Arusha.

Simply make a pledge with us, once we return from our climb we will let you know if we made it to the top or not, then you can make your donation. All donors will be part how the money is spent, receiving reports of how they helped these wonderful poor kids.

Angie and I are presently in the process of sponsoring two kids whom we will visit after our climb. Keeping all the kids that Compassion International is helping in Arusha in our minds during the climb will drive us to the top of Kilimanjaro. Thank you for considering being part of this wonderful adventure.
